From January 2014 Federal Government's new scheme Grow up Smiling - Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) has replaced the Teen Dental Scheme. Eligible families receive upto $1000 worth of treatments for 2 consecutive calendar year. Under this scheme our dental clinic is able to perform most of the dental treatments BULK BILLED for children aged 2-17 from eligible families and you will not be required to pay from your pocket.
Just give us a call and let us know that you are eligible for the CDBS. We will book you in for an appoinment with our dentist. The dentist will discuss with you the best treatment option for your child before performing the treatment. Our friendly receptionist will take care of the paper work for you and you just need to sign the consent form.
Treatments that are covered under this scheme are Oral examinations, x-rays, Scale and clean, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extraction. We will provide you with the best treatment option that will be covered under this scheme. We are also great with children and are also open afterhours and Saturdays.
If you do not use all of your $1,000 benefit in the first year of eligibility, you can use it in the second year if you are still eligible. Any remaining balance will not be carried forward at the end of the second year.
Eligible families, teenagers and approved care organisations will receive a letter to confirm eligibility.
A child's eligibility is assessed at the beginning of each year and lasts the whole calendar year. A child is eligible if they are aged 2-17 years for at least 1 day of the calendar year, are eligible for Medicare and are either part of a family receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A or one of the following Australian Government payments:
